Ok, let me be candid here…

Personally, I’m sick of hearing all of these people profess that network marketing is a scam.

If network marketing is a scam, then most businesses are scams.  They all operate in similar manners.  All involve people advancing, people not advancing, businesses thriving, and businesses failing.  Mom and pop stores fail every day, yet know one says starting a business like that is a scam?

So why network marketing?

Network marketing presents one of the greatest income opportunities an individual could be presented with.  Unlike traditional businesses (which may take thousands of dollars to launch properly), most network marketing companies can be started for less than $500.

For example, the company I represent cost $329 at most.

If I were to start a thrift shop, I would spend more than $329 just in deposit for my building.

And with any business, there is no guarantee of income.  But its hard to not make money if you work the business like a business.  Treat it as if you invested a lot into it, promote it, spread the word, and follow directions.

Follow directions.

Follow directions.

Such simple words that are so hard for some to follow.

Listen…go start a McDonald’s.  Come up with millions to get started and then do things your way, not their way.  You’ll lose the business.  No, not that it won’t make money (chances are less likely that you will), but they will take the business from you.

Why?

Because their system is proven to work, just like a network marketing company’s system is proven.

Network marketing is a source for you to build a substantial income….if you are willing to work!

Hands down one of the best things about building a substantial income by working your home based business is the fact that you don’t have to stay at home! Sure it’s nice to have a home office where you can settle in and get work done but sometimes there is nothing better than getting out, having fun and making money at the same time!

So where can you go if you want to get out of the house and still find time to work? Almost anywhere! But if you’re running low in inspiration here are a few of my favorite ideas!

The coffee shop. Many local coffee shops offer free internet so just grab your cell phone and laptop and you’re ready to go! Besides, being around the hustle and bustle of people going and coming home from work can make you especially thankful that you work from home.

The park. If it’s nice weather there is nothing like getting outside and enjoying the day! Almost all cell phone providers cell wireless internet cards these will allow you to literally work anywhere. If you have kids this is an especially nice idea because you can watch them play and have a good time and still manage to get your work done.

On vacation. Want to have a long relaxing vacation and still get some work done? Why not bring you work on the road with you? You can have fun during the day and still get some things done at night. This will allow you to take an even longer vacation because you’re not worried about falling behind on anything! Vacations are also a great time to shoot some videos to help market your business!

By the pool. Want to build an incredible income and get a tan? Relax by the pool and get some sun while at the same time being productive. Just remember the sun block!

In the back yard. Enjoy the day, watch the kids and still get your work done! Bonus points if you have a hammock!

The possibilities are endless when you work from home! Remember just because you work from home doesn’t mean you have to stay there! Get out there and enjoy life while making money along the way.

30 Jan 09 Internet Marketing Tip: You Don’t Have To Be A “Personality” To Do Web Videos

I recently went on an adventure in Internet marketing my home business: I made a video, of me, talking about my home based business.

It was exciting, embarrassing, and frustrating!

I have a mentor in Internet Marketing that came from a radio background. He has a great “set of pipes”, as they would say in the industry, and comes across very natural, cool, and in control of all of the videos he does.

In fact, one could say that he has the gift of doing great Internet marketing videos.

As I am playing back what I did, I laughed at myself. Being from Arkansas, my southern accent is very strong. In fact, I sounded, in my opinion, like I had just stepped out of the woods. It is amazing that, even with a college degree, I could sound so bad! My grammar was not poor, but the accent was definitely on my mind!

At first I felt like I would never be able to do an Internet marketing video that would draw attention; that people would be attracted to, or would help my business in any way. After all, my mentor had a great voice and great presence and he was having success at it. He was everything with videos that I am not.

Then the “ah-ha!” moment hit me: You do not have to be a radio personality to make a quality video! All you have to have is a little enthusiasm and a good message.

I published this first Internet marketing video not knowing what I would get out of it. I did what every good Internet Marketer would do with the video, distributed it to the sites I thought it needed to be on, and sat back wondering what I would do my next Internet marketing video on.

I do know one thing, though: My next Internet marketing video will be better than the first, and the video after that will be better than the previous two. Internet Marketing is about growth, about pushing yourself to be creative, and expanding into different areas that will get your message out to the people looking for your business, your product, or your service. Sometimes this includes breaking out of your comfort zone, but that is okay!

While I will never have the vocal qualities of my mentor, I do share enough in common with him to make great Internet Marketing videos. And although I sound like an educated backwoods hick, I will continue to work on my video recording abilities to be an effective Internet Marketer.

Most people know that when you’re working your own home based business they sky is the limit. It’s true that there really is no cut off for success when you won your own business. However, many people are limiting their own success and they don’t even know it. Are you?

It’s good to have income goals when you are working from home but sometimes we can find ourselves not being able to see past those goals to something bigger. For instance if you are at a job making $40,000 a year you might say to yourself “I want to replace my $40,000 a year income so I can quit my job!”

Now there is nothing wrong with that. However, once you hit that goal a lot of people just stop because that is all the money they have ever pictures themselves making. This is what I mean by limiting your income. Sure you might want to make more than 40 grand but because you can’t see it for yourself you’ll never be able to actually reach it.

Now I know what you’re probably thinking “I would never limit my income!”

Well the truth is that most people do it without even knowing it. Do this exercise: write down on a piece of paper all the things you want from life no matter how big they are. Then take a look at them.

If your dreams and goals aren’t huge you’re probably limiting your income. I once read someone’s list of dreams and one of them was to own a new Saturn! Let me say that again…. A new Saturn! No offence to Saturn but that’s not a dream car!

So sit back and look at your list of goals and whatever they are make them bigger! By having huge almost unreachable goals you will allow yourself to keep reaching higher and higher and never getting comfortable enough to stop reaching for more.

Finally, never let other people limit your income. Sometimes friends or family members tend to have an idea of what we can accomplish and sadly there are times when we let them stop us from reaching for more. Don’t let anyone ever tell you what you are capable of.

Which hard work and a great business you can make unlimited income from home. Don’t limit to mediocrity when you can have greatness!

Have you ever heard this before?

“Well I’d like to start a home based business but they are just too risky.”

I know I’ve heard it probably a thousand times or more. The truth is however that investing in a home based business can actually be a safer bet than a college degree. Now before you roll your eyes and shut me out just listen to these three reasons and by the end I know you’ll see my point.

The first reason is time. Did you know that in the time it takes you to earn a traditional 4 year degree you could be set for life with a home based business?

Most home based businesses take about 2 - 4 years to see success just like a degree. So what’s the difference? Well once you get that degree that is suppose to set you up for life you still have to go to work every day. The hard part is really just beginning! Invest a few years into a home based business and you could be in a position to never have to work another day in your life!

The second reason is money. A traditional home based business will cost between $100 - $500 up front some more and some less. Depending on the college you choose a traditional 4 year degree will cost you tens of thousands of dollars. Most college students will have to take out student loans to cover the cost of everything and that means they’ll be paying for school for years and years to come.

It always makes me laugh when people say that a couple hundred dollars is too risky. I’d risk a few hundred any day rather than several thousand… wouldn’t you?

The final reason college is more of a risk than a home based business is that after all that school and training there is still no guarantee that you’ll even have a job at the end of it all!

Almost everyone knows someone or several someone’s who have a degree and aren’t even doing anything with it. Either because they can’t find a job or they decided later on that they don’t want to do what they went to school for. When that happens you’ve wasted tens of thousands of dollars and several years of your life to pretty much end up with nothing.

Many people believe it’s best to answer your calls live and let them talk to a real person and many others believe sending them to an automated voicemail is best. There are a lot of pro’s to picking up the phone and answering your calls live. For one it’s just more personal. Fewer and fewer businesses are answering their calls live these days and it’s something that people like it makes them feel like they are important and it just makes them feel good. Another pro to answering your calls live is that you can answer their questions right away. Sometimes just answering one or two questions can help them decide if they’re in or out and taking the calls live allows you to get the answers right away. The final pro to answering your calls live is that it gives you the upper hand in the conversation.

If you let them leave a voicemail you’ll have to call them back and whoever is answering the phone is automatically in a better position. By answering your calls live you will probably talk to nicer people because after all.. They called you!

The con’s of sending them to voicemail:

People might be put off that you are sending them to a machine instead of speaking to them live. Another reason is that they may be calling multiple people and if you don’t answer but someone else does they might end up signing up with the other person.
